This diskette contains the Windows 3.1 BETA drivers version 2.04f. These
drivers correct most of the outstanding Windows 3.1 driver issues. If you
have any problems with these drivers, please send a fax describing the
problem in detail to:

Manual Installation Procedures

The four .EXE files contain all the driver files.
SHARED.EXE contains file compatible with both 3.0 and 3.1 releases.
WIN30DRV.EXE contains Windows 3.0 specific files.
WIN31DRV.EXE contains Windows 3.1 specific files.
WININST.EXE contains Windows Install files.
Windows 3.0:
------------
1. This example will use C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV as the destination directory
for the drivers. The Install application WILL NOT run properly
unless the Windows drivers are located in the <Path>\WIN30DRV
sub-directory.
2. Create the new directory if it does not already exist.
(Example: MD C:\SS24X <Enter>)
MD C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)
3. Extract the WIN30DRV.EXE file to the new directory.
(Example: A:WIN30DRV.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)
4. Extract the SHARED.EXE file to the new directory.
(Example: A:SHARED.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)
5. Extract the WININST.EXE file to the parent directory.
(Example: A:WININST.EXE C:\SS24X <Enter>)
6. Verify operation of your Windows 3.0 installation in standard VGA
mode (640x480x16) before continuing installation.
7. From the Windows Program Manager, choose:
File
Run
C:\SS24X\INSTALL <Enter>
8. This will start the SpeedStar 24X INSTALL application and allow
you to select the desired resolution and colors.
9. If you the INSTALL program cannot find the desired driver, or if
you choose to INSTALL NEW, the INSTALL program will prompt you to
enter the path where the Windows 3.0 drivers for your SpeedStar 24X
can be found. At this prompt type:
C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV
10. The DIAMOND icon will be copied to a DIAMOND group in Windows.
Windows 3.1:
------------
1. This example will use C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV as the destination directory
for the drivers. The Install application WILL NOT run properly
unless the Windows drivers are located in the <Path>\WIN31DRV
sub-directory.
2. Create the new directory if it does not already exist.
(Example: MD C:\SS24X <Enter>)
MD C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV <Enter>)
3. Extract the WIN30DRV.EXE file to the new directory.
(Example: A:WIN30DRV.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV <Enter>)
4. Extract the SHARED.EXE file to the new directory.
(Example: A:SHARED.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV <Enter>)
5. Extract the WININST.EXE file to the parent directory.
